When Dwellsy CEO Jonas Bordo set out to make an original podcast, he knew he wanted to create a platform that renters could use to elevate their voices and listen to first-hand stories from other renters like themselves. With that goal in mind he created Rent Matters, a podcast sponsored by Dwellsy.

Why Make A Podcast Focused on Renters

People are faced with dozens of questions before, during, and after finding a rental home. Yet, there are few platforms there to guide renters through that journey. Rent Matters provides people with real life advice from real life renters. Episodes cover a broad spectrum of topics like how to use a decision matrix and how to find a roommate. “Our goal for Rent Matters is to provide a platform where renters’ voices are centered and individuals are able to share their experiences and advice about renting” says host Jonas Bordo. With already six published episodes with renters from all across the country, he is certainly living up to that goal.

Is Rent Matters Only for Renters?

Since its inception Rent Matters has grown its audience beyond that of just renters, but landlords and property managers alike. What makes this podcast a valuable tool for landlords? It gives them an idea of what renters are looking for, and how they might be able to fulfill those needs and create a safe renting experience. Rent Matters also offers advice from special guests like long-term property manager Donje Putnam, who offered thoughtful advice on how to host rental tours during COVID.

What can I expect from an episode of Rent Matters?

At the very least, you can expect laughter and engaging conversation from each and every episode. Aside from having a variety of diverse topics, Rent Matters also features a wide range of guests, all of which are remarkably interesting with vast amounts of knowledge to share. Jonas Bordo does an exceptional job making every episode feel genial and genuine. If you’re looking for a monotonous podcast to put you to sleep, Rent Matters is not the one for you.

Although episodes of Rent Matters are deeply informative, they are also earnest and heartfelt. There is a mutual understanding between host and audience that a rental is more than just a roof over your head. It is a home that provides peace and comfort even during the most trying times. Rent Matters is here to help people find exactly that.
